You wear your underthings every day, and most of the time no one ever sees them. That doesn’t mean that you should haphazardly throw them into a drawer and hope that they’ll last the test of time. If you invest in quality pieces, you have to take the time to care for them properly in order to get the most out of your purchase, and good storage techniques is one way to ensure that your small bra sizes and other lingerie looks and feels as good as it did from the beginning.

It is important to start the process of organizing your undergarments by getting rid of those pieces that don’t fit, are too old, or that you simply don’t wear any more. The best way to go about doing this is to dump out your drawer and start sorting. Check all of your bras and underwear for the following problems:

  • Stretched out elastic
  • Faded colors
  • Improper fit
  • Broken underwire

A good rule of thumb to keep in mind is if you haven’t worn it in more than a year, throw it out. Once your lingerie collection has been trimmed down, you are ready to start putting it back in your drawer in an organized manner. You can get more out of your drawer if you are willing to invest in a few handy products, including drawer dividers and boxes. This allows you to divide up your pieces by color, style, or size to make finding the perfect item easy. If you have bra and panty sets or fun nighties, keep them together for convenience. However, if you prefer to separate your bras and panties for mix-and-match options, a simple divider down the middle of your drawer may suffice with bras lined up cup over cup to prevent bending or damage.

Opening up your drawer to a nicely organized scene can make your day, so be sure to take the time to properly store all of your lingerie.
